Monitor of Hajj and Umrah Violations (MHUV) is one of the initiatives by SANAD human rights organization in UK. It has been working to observe and document the Saudi government’s violations against pilgrims and Umrah performers, by researching and communicating with the affected cases. This is for the purpose of documenting the affected cases and presenting them to international institutions, the media and the public. The MUHV works in cooperation with human rights organizations and other institutions that have interesting in the issues of pilgrims and Umrah. With the aim of cooperation to reduce these violations committed by the Saudi government against them and to call the rights of people to do Hajj and Umrah without any arrest or harassment.
Many activists, politicians and intellectuals from different countries suffer from restrictions or bans on visiting Makkah Al-Mukarramah to perform Hajj and Umrah. This is because of their political, legal and religious positions and opinions. Rather, it may come to the point that the Saudi government practices chasing some of them by issuing visitor visas for Umrah and Hajj from its embassies around the world. And if he arrives in Saudi Arabia he will forcibly hidden directly, or handed over to other repressive countries that target his freedom and life.
