Hajj in exchange for Saudi foreign policy approval

Le Monde revealed that Saudi Arabia exerted great pressure on a number of African countries to force them to cut ties with Qatar during the diplomatic crisis between the two countries in 2017. The newspaper reported that Riyadh threatened these African countries to complicate the procedures for obtaining Hajj visas if they did not boycott Qatar, which some countries complied to it, while others refused.
