Mass arrest of a number of Iraqi pilgrims

The Saudi authorities deliberately use a number of ways to cover up their violations of Hajj and Umrah. One of which is not to reveal the names who are arrested during Hajj and Umrah. This is what happened with a number of Iraqi pilgrims when they were performing Umrah, as the Saudi authorities did not disclose their detention. This mass arrest would not have been known without an official statement issued in March 2022 by the Iraqi Supreme Authority for Hajj and Umrah. This statement confirmed that the commission sent a telegram to the Saudi authorities, calling for an immediate release of Iraqi detainees who came for Umrah. We have not able be to confirm the number of Iraqis or their status.
